Overall first impression

Halo reactor mini mods in different colors

If you are looking for a smaller vaping device, that provides a little more than your usual basic kit, the Halo Reactor Mini starter kit is something to consider. It comes with everything you need, including a vape tank of 2 ML e-liquid capacity and a unique temperature control feature for improving your vaping experience further.

Having a maximum output power of 40 watts, you will be blowing decently sized clouds effortlessly, with the 0.5 Ohm coil that is provided in this kit. I would certainly recommend this to you if you wish to carry a vape mod in your pocket. Especially, if you are after something that is not too big or heavy.

Being a small device, it still packs a small punch featuring a 2600 MAh battery, that allows you to vape without having to recharge all the time.

Build Quality

The quality of this product is very good for the price of retailing around $60. The tank itself is constructed of 100% stainless steel and so is the vape mod. The first impression holding the device in my hand, it feels very sturdy and durable. It has nice weight added to it, thanks to the heavy-duty materials used to make it feel like a premium top of the line product.

It doesn’t feel cheap like a plastic toy, like some starter kits that I have reviewed in the past. In the box, you get two stainless steel coils rated at 0.5 Ohms, a reactor mini tank, a reactor 40W battery mod, stainless steel mouthpiece, wide bore glass mouthpiece, a USB cable and wall adapter.

You also get your usual pack of spares, including O rings and other rubber seals, in case you misplace them in the future when changing e-liquid or coils. Once you open the box, you are equipped with everything you need to get you started.

Looks and Feel

The best thing I like about this starter kit is the price for the power you get. The mod is very compact and is not overly bulky like some mods in its category. You can easily carry this in your pocket or bag, without it being heavy or annoying to transport around with you.

Its black and silver contrast makes it stand out from most of the boring looking vape mods that are just one color. It doesn’t come in fancy bright colors and provides an elegant classy look. Not to mention, the Halo reactor mini box mod also has a screen and two functional buttons that allow you to adjust different mods and wattages.

The vaping data that is displayed on the screen is easy to understand and the font is readable in sunny locations. You will not be disappointed with the looks and feel of this product.

First impressions are great, now let’s see how it vapes. Using the supplied 0.5 Ohm stainless steel coil, I fully primed it before use to ensure I get the best performance for first time testing. The company states that they have incorporated stainless steel as the coil material, as it provides better flavor as it prevents dry hits.

Not only that because the coils are made of stainless steel, you have the option to vape them in either variable wattage mode or temperature control, the choice is yours. Using normal wattage mode, the flavor is just as good as the SMOK TFV8 baby beast. You can really taste the detail of sweet e-juices in this tank.

The clouds are huge for only having a device that is capable of 40 watts. You won’t win cloud competitions with this device, however, you will be able to blow some fairly decent sized clouds. After chain vaping, on maximum power, I didn’t experience any dry hits at all. The consistent performance was something I noticed about this starter kit, it just kept and going all the time.

Temperature control mode works well with the supplied stainless-steel coils. Using this mode, the flavor was identical to what I was getting in regular wattage mode. However, I did notice that there were less e-liquid consumption and battery life last twice as long.

All the benefits you gain with vaping with a temperature control device were all noticed in this starter kit. This kit really works wonders. Due to the vape tank only holding 2 ML of e-juice, I noticed that I had to constantly refill at higher wattages. So be prepared to carry a bottle of e-juice with you as the vape tank is very demanding at times.

Battery Life

Having a 2600 mAh battery capacity, you can chain vape this for quite something. How long the battery lasts depends on how long you have vaped for and what wattage that is. Switching between 30-40 watts, I was comfortably getting around half a day out of it. Running the tank on lower wattage between 15-20 watts, provided me with around a full day. Charging doesn’t take long at all; the supplied wall charger is surprisingly fast.

Expect a full charge within 60 minutes.

Having used the Halo Reactor Mini starter kit for over a month, maintenance is nothing out of the ordinary. Due to the coils being stainless steel, they last twice as long if compared to regular coils made from Kanthal wire. Chain vaping, I got a full week out of one coil, that’s with constant use.

I tested the second coil on moderate power under 20 watts and I almost got around 2 weeks out of one coil. One thing that I have noticed over the years, coil manufacturers are getting better at making coils. The reactor mini tank is easy to clean and take apart when changing coils, all you need to do is unscrew the glass from the base.

The coil can then be unscrewed out and you can wash out the other metal parts. This is not very maintenance heavy, unlike the big cloud beast SMOK TFV12 tank, so if you want a few clouds with minimal maintenance this is the Halo Reactor mini is the starter kit for you.

1) Small, compact and lightweight. This makes it easy to carry along with other items such as your smartphone in the same pocket.reactor mini mod by halo in silver

2) Stainless steel design makes both the vape mod and the tank durable.

3) The tank has adjustable airflow and coils last ages.

4) Goes up to 40 watts, you can control the power and use TC mode.

5) Offers more than your usual starter kit. Include a screen and functional buttons.

1) Battery life could be better for heavy chain vaping

2) No firmware upgrade support.

3) If you are looking for cloud competition level of clouds, this is not the vape mod for you.

Overall, the Halo Reactor Mini Starter Kit is the perfect all-rounder if you want cloud and flavor in one small package. If you are not looking for a huge mod, with multiple 18650 batteries then I would certainly recommend this starter kit. It’s one

of the best that I have reviewed in its category that offers plenty of features to enhance your vaping experience. The coils are widely available from most online electronic cigarette vendors and being constructed from stainless steel, they last a very long time. Best bang for the buck, so what are you waiting for? Grab it while you can, it tends to be sold out very quickly.
