Over a year ago, VaporFi decided to toss their hat in the box MOD ring with the Vox. Even though it was their first device it received solid reviews and before we knew it Vaporfi had a full lineup of the some of the best box mods on the market. Their latest release is the Vox 60w TC (temperature control) box mod kit.
The overall size of the unit is surprisingly small compared to other box MOD’s, and the size of the Vox 60w makes the power this thing can produce very deceiving as this beast can hit 60 watts of pure power. Temperature control is allowed with the proper coils (nickel/titanium) and is just one of a long list of specs on this device. Even though temperature control is becoming more popular with newer devices, the overall vibe I get is that not alot of people are actually doing/using it. Why? personally, I think it’s because with these newer devices being able to satisfy most vapers with the standard vaping technical specs of vaping at lower ohms, and simply being more reliable, the time to setup a temperature control coil, in most cases, isn’t really needed for a solid vaping experience. I understand the hardcore elite have a few nice words to call me after a statement like that, but honestly, temperature control seems to be a feature that is really nice to have ( for future use) but isn’t the primary reason for their purchase. With that little rant over with, that was the long way of saying my time with the Vox 60w TC was tested mostly with the 0.2 standard coil that comes in the vShock tank.
With this one, personally, I only used the temp control mode a couple times, to see how easy it was to bounce back and forth. Like most boxes these, the Vox will ask as soon as you screw on your tank if you’re using a new coil ( up/yes down/no) and to switch it to temp mode is a simple two-button press. Nice and easy. I was able to vape for well over a day while using temp control and the temps were typically around 500F. The majority of use was with a high VG blend ejuice with the vShock tank that I choose with this kit. The vShock comes with a 0.2 ohm coil installed and its overall performance was solid.
With an extremely well-crafted seamless body, right out of the box this box looks very sleek. The black zinc alloy instead of stainless steel was a switch compared to most boxes but luckily the fingerprint issue was non-existent. The durability of this device definitely feels awesome and, at least for me, held up very well after a drop or two. Not the lightest of box mods we’ve tried, this vape has some weight to it for sure but its not a deal-breaker. Right away the Vox 60w felt very comfortable and solid in my hand; the overall feel of a well-built device.

It was really hard to find anything that I didn’t like this device. Like most Vaporfi devices they are simply built with a little more quality than most and this is one of the many reasons why VaporFi is considered one of the best vape companies to date.
With a kit coming in at this price it’s mandatory that every important aspect is covered extremely well. The Vox 60w delivers on this notion, especially when dealing with overall built quality, solid battery life, easy to setup and reliable on a day-to-day basis. Done, Done, and Done. The 2600mAh dual internal Li-Po battery held up extremely well for my medium to heavy daily use. But I typically ran it under 30w so the battery life may fluctuate depending on your level of use. The micro USB charging port was surprising to see, as most devices of this caliber don’t use them. But I did happily notice the charging time was greatly improved due to it. Some hardcore vapers prefer to swap out battery’s, to eliminate downtime but with the 2600mAh battery it will definitely get you through the day until bedtime, and just like your phone – your vape should be getting plugged in as well. However, the no pass-through charging was a little odd, but if memory serves me correctly – none of their devices do.
The box MOD category is rapidly growing with serious ecig enthusiasts who love to have full control of their devices (and those who tinker). The VaporFi Vox 60w
